Get back on a bike this October and rediscover the joys and benefits of cycling!

The Biketober Business Challenge is a fun and friendly cycling challenge between workplaces and individuals. The challenge is about experiencing how easy and enjoyable riding a bike can be and bringing others along for the ride. Organisations from across the state are competing to log the most rides, recruit the most new riders and win prizes for their efforts. There a weekly prize draws as well as the annual prize draw for a trip to New Zealand or the Grand Canyon!

Register a workplace team, create your personal profile, ride anywhere, anytime in October, then log your rides online or on the app to contribute to your teams score.

People only need to cycle for a minimum of 10 minutes to take part. You and your workplace team dont have to cycle the most kilometres to win either. Challenge points are weighted to factor in participation and recruitment of new riders.

There are so many benefits of riding a bike - including being healthier, happier and more connected to the people and places around you, as well as saving money and the planet! If you are a manager or business owner there are also benefits for your organisation, including:

  • healthier, happier, more productive staff.
  • enhanced corporate image
  • reduced demand and costs associated with car parking facilities
  • prize incentives for your staff
  • free entry.

So lets get cycling in October!

Visit the website for all events.

The Biketober Business Challenge is brought to you by Get Healthy at Work, a NSW Government initiative that aims to create healthy workplaces and improve the health of working adults in NSW.

An Image of a Tiger
more_vert
close

An Image of a Tiger is an exhibition by Singapore-born Sydney-based artist Jess Bradford, which uses a Chinese cultural theme park called The Tiger Balm Garden to explore cultural identity and representation.

In her first solo show with Galerie Pompom, Bradford presents a series of miniature photorealist paintings and ceramic sculptures based on photographic documents and experiences of the park.

The Tiger Balm Garden depicts traditional Chinese myths, history and folklore with painted concrete sculptures and dioramas, set within fabricated grottos and mountainscapes. Having visited the park as a child, the artist now uses this site to explore her ambivalent connection to Singaporean-Chinese culture. She considers the site from both a personal and critical perspective, examining how the Garden relates to broader narratives of cultural and national identity.

Jess Bradford (b. Singapore, 1987) has held solo exhibitions at Firstdraft and MOP Projects, and is a 2018 Parramatta Artists Studios resident. She completed a Master of Fine Arts at Sydney College of the Arts in 2016. Bradfords work has been included in curated group shows at Delmar Gallery (2017), Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (2015), Fairfield Museum and Gallery (2014) and Penrith Regional Gallery and The Lewers Bequest (2013).
